Photography Series 2023–2025

Solitude/Samota 2023

"Solitude is not emptiness. It's the space where we hear ourselves most clearly."

This visual series was created over several years as I learned to see the world anew after the birth of my twins. Long walks with a stroller through the streets of Prague became a silent meditation. I was among people—yet alone. Solitude has always both frightened and fascinated me. In childhood, I feared it; in adulthood, I tried to understand it.

During this time, I began to perceive the solitude of others—in their movements, postures, rhythms of walking. Through the camera's viewfinder, I observed how people lose and find themselves. Although many are captured from behind, I always aimed to convey something deeper through their bodily expressions, gestures, or relationships to space—the emotion they radiate. I ask: Do you feel it too, viewer?

These images contain both silence and tension. They are not documentary in the factual sense—but in feeling. Solitude that is sometimes beautiful, other times burdensome. Sometimes it brings peace, other times deep contemplation or loss.In my photographs, it's a state between worlds—between movement and stillness, between inside and outside.

All the shots were taken in Prague between 2023 and 2025. It's a city I know—yet I was learning to see it anew. With my twins by my side, I captured a world that moved around us, yet also deep within me.
